Spike needs more fanart! And so does Peewee. So here they are, more grown up.

I always imagined a bird-type pet to be perfect for a hunter, so I could see Spike being a marksman or something.

I have no idea what I was doing with that rifle. In fact I'm not really satisfied with this piece, I might go back to it later... Had a lot of negative space initially, and given Spike's pallet it was hard to separate him from the background in terms of value. I'm testing out some new methods for coloring, using more direct painting as well as color/overlay blends to change value/hue.

SO YEAH. Have a Spike.

Edit: Yeah some things were too noticeable. Fixed it up some.

I don't know why, but I really like how you did his hands.

even with the small mistakes this is far beyond anything I can accomplish right now. Things like this really inspire me to keep working to get better. :) Keep up the good work!

Hmm...I think a crossbow would be more appropriate :T
Then again, a stempunk-y rifle musket thing could actually work too.

Crossbow actually would work quite well, come to think of it. Was just thinking along the lines of some other art I've seen of him, usually holding a steampunky gun of some kind.
